Introducing Double Edged Sabres
June 4th, 2009 | by Vance |Shall we get this show on the road? I do believe so. Fantastic time to start up a hockey blog, you know, a week before the entire season comes to an end. At least my compatriot at PensAreMightier.com, more on that later, has a couple games to focus on, me? Well I’ve got nothing.
Now a little bit of background before you start thinking “Who’s this pissant telling me about my Sabres!” Well allow me to tell you what this little pissant is all about.
I’ll just go by Vance around these parts, you might recognize that name as the editor over at the hockey humor site BanginPanger.com. You don’t? Christ, I’M FAMOUS! Son of a bitch, that never works. Well, do a little searching, you’ll see. Like I mentioned, Denson, the Pens blogger, also writes over at BP, and we joined the FanBall blog network together. No homo, so expect a lot of bickering there.
Anyways, my Sabres fandom goes back to about 1994, with as a 9 year old child, the line of Alex Mogilny, Pat LaFontaine, and Dale Hawerchuk dominated that punk line of Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux, and Ron Francis in EA Sports NHL94. Since that day, I have bled royal blue and yellow, black and red, and navy and gold.
We’ll get into this more later, but I wanted to pop in and introduce myself to the network, and to the slowly but surely readers that will come along the way.
