Post-Draft Round Up
June 29th, 2009 | by Vance |I did not get to see, follow, watch, insert any adjective here on the second day of the draft. I was out on a kayaking trip / recovering from partying with the AHL’s Calder Cup (oh, don’t believe me?). So needless to say, I was curious to see what the Sabres were going to do. Outside of the first 30 or so rated players, I’m pretty much at a loss.
But when I saw the Sabres had grabbed Marcus Foligno with that 3rd round pick, I was quite happy. We obviously all know about Mike Foligno’s heritage as a Sabre, we’ve all seen his brother Nick in Ottawa (my high school actually played against Nick’s back when Mike was the head coach of the Hershey Bears), so we know what we’re getting there. But the rest of the kids? Well, here’s what they’re saying about the Sabres 2009 draft picks. You know what I’m saying about the picks? Nobody is under 6′1”. Thank God.
These images come from the Sabres Insider email blast, and all those pictures link to each of those prospects player profiles. Want more on some of these guys? Just go read everything on Die By The Blade, they’ve been so more proactive when it comes to post-draft coverage.
