Armchair GM Round 7 Pick: Samuel Pahlsson
August 14th, 2009 | by Vance |Up to this very point, my entire team was built on speed and explosive offense. Then I drafted Chris Osgood in round 6, and realized, wow, better get a lockdown center. So luckily for me, one of the premier shutdown centers in the league, Sami Pahlsson.
Good for about 20 points a season, he comes with a solid 53.5 FO%, good for 19th in the league last season. He’s an experienced veteran at this point, winning both a Gold medal with Sweden, but a Stanley Cup with Anaheim too. Not only did Pahlsson help shut down Heatley, Alfredsson and co. on his way to helping the Ducks win the 2006-2007 Stanley Cup, but he comes at an affordable price tag as well, just a $2.65 million cap hit, with his newly signed 3 year deal in Columbus.
So hey, you know what that means, overpriced veterans here we come!

This pick made me sad. We’ll call it your revenge for my Brassard pick making you mad.
