Sabres Win; And Lose
October 13th, 2009 | by Vance |Even in the wake of such a big win tonight against the Detroit Red Wings, the Sabres still managed to lose. Superstar Thomas Vanek will miss weeks due to an “upper body injury.”
From the Sabres site…
Lindy Ruff said, “It’s tough, but we’ve got extra players and every team is going to have to deal with injuries,” Ruff said. “If you look what Detroit’s dealing with, they’ve got to deal with [Johan] Fronzen out of the lineup. Every team is going to miss key players along the way and I think we have enough depth.”
Hopefully we’ll hear more soon, and hopefully that’s just an obligatory overreaction. Either way, great win, and let’s welcome Nate Gerbe back into the lineup.
