Sabres Recall Enroth; Lalime Injured

November 4th, 2009 | by Vance |

Portland Pirate Jhonas Enroth has been recalled to the Buffalo Sabres this morning.  News coming way of the Sabres Twitter account, there’s been no official word as to the reasoning behind the move.

Die By The Blade throws out the usual suspects; the flu bug that’s hit every squad so far, all the way to speculation that perhaps Patrick Lalime has been waived.

WGR 550 is reporting the move was made to spell Lalime, who’s been battling a tricky groin.  We’ll know more shortly.

So far this season, Portland’s netminder has a 3.90 GAA and .872 Save Percentage, not exactly eliciting confidence, eh?

Updated:  Sabres.com finally released the news.  Lalime did in fact hurt his groin during practice on Monday, which facilitated the recall of Enroth.

Lindy Ruff has also come out and stated that if Lalime cannot go this weekend, then Enroth would be making his season debut; presumably on Saturday against the struggling Bruins.
