Brayden McNabb Named CHL Player of the Week
December 23rd, 2009 | by Vance |Sabres prospect blueliner, Brayden McNabb, the Sabres 3rd round selection in last seasons draft, has been named CHL Player of the Week for the 3rd week of December. McNabb mans the blueline for the WHL’s Kootenay Ice and to earn that honor he posted 9 points in just 3 games.

McNabb led the Ice to a perfect 3-0-0-0 record on the week beginning with a 6-4 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday night. McNabb was named third star of the game with a goal and two assists in the contest. The Ice wrapped up the week with a home-and-home series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes with McNabb scoring a goal and an assist in the 8-2 road win on Friday night before scoring a career-high four points at home on Saturday with a goal and three assists as second star of the 6-1 win.
McNabb, an 18-year-old from Davidson, SK, is playing in his third full WHL season with the Ice. Selected in the third round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, McNabb currently ranks fifth amongst WHL defencemen with 35 points in 29 games.
